ABOUT THE DEGREE

Welcome to MIS@ASU! This is the official website for degree and course information for the MIS degree in the College of Business at Augusta State University. Our target start date for the program is fall semester of 2004, We have gone beyond the “typical” MIS degree found at many colleges across the country. We have centered our curriculum around the Microsoft Certified Application Developer (or MCAD) requirements to guide our program development.

This certification was first published in October 2002, and certifies “ skills in developing and maintaining department-level applications, components, Web or desktop front-end clients or back-end data services”. Oour program will apply Microsoft applications and development products along with products from ColdFusion and Macromedia. We have designed the major along this market niche, seeking to produce “application developers”. Further, our core program courses are tightly integrated, emphasizing producing working solutions to problems taken from actual projects in the CSRA.
